Family ceremony

Digital thread ceremony invitation

Invite family to the upanayanam or janeu with one link: the muhurat, the venue with a map link, and RSVPs for each function, from the rituals to the lunch.

When it happens: On a muhurat the family priest picks. The rituals often begin early in the morning, with a meal after.

The naamkaran demo's schedule on a phone: the Naamkaran puja on Sun, 20 Dec 2026 from 10:30 AM at the Srivastava residence, then a family lunch from 12:30 PM at Awadh Courtyard.
The live example is a naamkaran with a puja and a lunch, the same shape as most thread ceremonies.

Every guest page has

What a thread ceremony guest page should carry

  • The exact muhurat. Rituals often start early in the morning, so give the real start time, not just 'morning'.

  • The rituals and the meal as separate functions. Guests who are coming tick the ones they will attend, and you see a headcount for each.

  • Anything guests should know, such as what to wear, as a pinned update at the top of the page.

Thread ceremony questions hosts ask

There is no thread ceremony option. What do I pick?

On the website, pick Something else and type Upanayanam, Janeu or Thread ceremony, whichever your family says; in the app, type it under Or name it yourself. Name the celebration as you like, such as 'Aditya's Upanayanam'; that is what guests see.

Can the page be in our own language?

Guests can switch the page between English and Hindi with one tap. Function names and notes show exactly as you type them, so you can write those in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Marathi or any language.
